What Are Red Mesh Sclera Contacts?

Red mesh sclera contacts are a bold and striking type of contact lens designed to give your eyes an intense, eerie appearance. Unlike traditional contact lenses, which only cover the iris, our 22mm sclera contacts cover the entire visible part of your eye, including the whites, transforming your look into something truly otherworldly. The red mesh sclera lenses take this transformation even further by creating a vivid, all-red effect that gives your eyes a blood-red, terrifying appearance—perfect for a Halloween costume.

What sets red mesh sclera contacts apart is their unique mesh design, which allows you to see through the lenses while keeping your eyes completely obscured from view. This feature is particularly useful because it achieves the creepy, unsettling look of red eyes while ensuring that your vision remains largely unobstructed. It’s this combination of dramatic effect and practical visibility that makes our red mesh sclera lenses for Halloween so popular.

These full-eye red mesh contacts are ideal for those looking to enhance horror-themed costumes, such as demons, zombies, vampires, or possessed characters. The red mesh design amplifies the creepiness of any costume, making your eyes appear as if they’ve been completely taken over by a supernatural force. With their intense appearance and ability to create an unforgettable look, red mesh sclera contacts are the top choice for you to put your Halloween costume to the next level.

Red Sclera Mesh Contacts Costume Ideas

Red mesh sclera contacts are a game-changer for anyone looking to create a truly terrifying Halloween costume. These sclera lenses when wearing can instantly give your eyes an intense, blood-red appearance that pairs perfectly with a wide range of horror-themed costumes. Here are some ideas for characters that work exceptionally well with red mesh sclera contacts, along with tips on makeup and accessories to enhance your overall look.

Demon or Hellish Creature

Red mesh sclera contacts are ideal for a demon costume. The blood-red color adds a sinister, fiery intensity to your eyes, making you look as though you’ve emerged straight from the underworld.

  • Outfit: Opt for a black or dark red robe, faux leather armor, or even tattered clothing to give off a demonic or hellish vibe.
  • Makeup: Use dark, smoky eyeshadow to further emphasize the red in your eyes. Add black contouring around your cheekbones for a sharp, angular look and use red face paint or fake blood to create an even more gruesome appearance.
  • Accessories: Pair your costume with horns, claws, or a trident to complete the demonic look. The red mesh lenses will make your eyes the centerpiece of your terrifying costume.

Possessed or Haunted Character

For a possessed character or someone under supernatural control, red mesh sclera contacts add an element of mystery and fear, giving the impression of eyes taken over by dark forces.

  • Outfit: Wear tattered, old-fashioned clothes to give off a ghostly, haunted vibe. Think of long, flowing gowns or disheveled, weathered attire to create an eerie presence.
  • Makeup: Pale foundation and dark eye makeup can help create a sickly or otherworldly look. Add veins or cracks around the eyes using face paint to make it seem like your character has been overtaken by a demonic force.
  • Accessories: Add chains, torn fabric, or old jewelry to give the appearance of someone trapped between worlds. The red mesh contact lenses will make your possession look even more frightening.

Vampire

Red sclera mesh contacts are perfect for a vampire costume, as they mimic the look of bloodthirsty eyes, adding a more fearsome, primal edge to the traditional vampire look.

  • Outfit: Go for a classic gothic vampire look with dark, luxurious clothing, a cape, or even a modern vampire aesthetic with sleek black attire.
  • Makeup: Use pale foundation and dark lipstick to give a cold, undead look. Emphasize the eyes with dark eyeliner and shadow to make the red sclera lenses pop. You can also use fake blood around your mouth or on your neck for a freshly-fed appearance.
  • Accessories: Don’t forget your vampire fangs and a gothic choker or pendant. With the addition of red mesh sclera contacts, your vampire will look even more menacing and bloodthirsty.

Horror Movie Villain

Many iconic horror movie villains rely on an unsettling, eerie presence, and red mesh sclera contacts are the perfect tool to create that frightening look.

  • Outfit: Whether you’re dressing up as a killer clown, an undead slasher, or a demonic entity, use dark or worn-out clothing that fits your character’s backstory.
  • Makeup: Use face paint or prosthetics to add scars, wounds, or other deformities. Dark eyeshadow around the contacts can make your eyes seem even more hollow and terrifying.
  • Accessories: Choose weapons or props like fake knives, axes, or chainsaws to match the villain you're portraying. With the red mesh sclera contacts, you’ll have a fearsome, murderous stare that makes your costume unforgettable.

Makeup and Accessory Tips to Enhance the Red Mesh Eye Effect

Dark Shadows Around the Eyes: Use black or deep red eyeshadow to enhance the dramatic effect of the red mesh contact lenses. This will create depth and make the red stand out even more.

  • Fake Blood: For a more gruesome look, add fake blood dripping from the eyes, mouth, or hands, especially if you’re going for a zombie, vampire, or possessed character.
  • Special Effects Makeup: Use latex prosthetics or scar wax to create cuts, wounds, or burns that complement the terrifying look of your red mesh sclera contacts.

By pairing red mesh sclera contacts with the right costume and makeup, you can create a truly unforgettable Halloween look. These lenses are versatile and work exceptionally well with a wide range of horror costumes, ensuring your eyes make a lasting impact. Whether you're going for a demon, vampire, or horror movie villain, Finallure's red mesh sclera contacts are the perfect finishing touch to your spine-chilling transformation.

Usage Instructions for Colored Contact Lenses

  1. Wash and Dry Your Hands: Before handling your lenses, thoroughly wash your hands with soap and water. Dry them with a lint-free towel to avoid transferring any debris to the lenses.
  2. Check the Lens: Always inspect your lenses before wearing them. Ensure they are clean, free from damage, and not inside out (the edges should form a perfect bowl).
  3. Insert the Lens:
    • Place the lens on the tip of your clean, dry index finger.
    • Use your other hand to hold your upper eyelid to prevent blinking.
    • Gently pull down your lower eyelid with the middle finger of the same hand.
    • Look upward and slowly place the lens on your eye.
    • Release your eyelids, blink a few times, and the lens should center on your eye.
  4. Adjust and Repeat: If the lens feels uncomfortable, blink a few times to help it settle, or remove and reapply if necessary. Repeat the process for the other eye.

Care Tips for Colored Contact Lenses

  1. Clean After Every Use: After wearing, remove your lenses and clean them with a multi-purpose contact lens solution. Avoid using water or saliva, as this can introduce harmful bacteria.
  2. Rub and Rinse: Place the lens in the palm of your hand, apply the solution, and gently rub the lens with your fingertip for about 10-15 seconds. Rinse the lens with fresh solution.
  3. Proper Storage: Store your lenses in a clean, contact lens case filled with fresh solution (not water). Replace the solution in the case daily to maintain hygiene.
  4. Replace Your Case Regularly: Change your lens case every 1-3 months to prevent bacteria build-up. Ensure it’s kept dry and clean when not in use.
  5. Avoid Overwearing: Follow the recommended wear time for your lenses. If they are daily wear lenses, dispose of them after each use. For monthly lenses, stick to the 30-day usage limit.
  6. Be Gentle with Your Lenses: Avoid touching your lenses with sharp objects like nails or tweezers. Handle them delicately to prevent tears or scratches.
  7. Avoid Water Contact: Do not wear your lenses while swimming or showering, as water can introduce harmful microorganisms that may cause eye infections.
  8. Never Sleep in Lenses (Unless Extended Wear): Unless specifically prescribed for overnight use, remove your lenses before going to bed to allow your eyes to breathe and prevent dryness or infection.
  9. Monitor for Discomfort: If you experience redness, irritation, or blurred vision, remove your lenses immediately and consult an eye care professional if the issue persists.
  10. Follow the Replacement Schedule: Always adhere to the replacement schedule of your lenses (daily, monthly, yearly) to avoid complications from expired lenses.
